2022 is soon over but the memories linger. Here’s a quick look at the most controversial issues of the year.
Deniece Cornejo vs. Vhong Navarro
The issue between the two was revived in a spectacular manner in 2022.
The original rape case against Vhong was actually filed in court in 2014 but was dismissed by the Department of Justice.
The Court Of Appeals set aside the ruling maintaining a proper trial is needed to determine the truth concerning the hole brouhaha.
Vhong voluntarily surrendered to authorities and was detained for sometime at the National Bureau of Investigation’s Detention Center before eventually being transferred to the Taguig City Jail.
He has since been granted temporary liberty after posting bail amounting to one million pesos.
Carla Abellana vs. Tom Rodriguez
Many were shocked when newly married couple Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez announced their split.
That it happened only three months after they were married allowed for much confusion that triggered gossipmongers.
It didn’t help that Carla’s father, Rey Abellana, would come out to allege that Tom had a one night stand.
To this day, both Tom and Carla remain mum on the real reason behind the whole fiasco.
Tom has since filed for divorce in the US.
Ana Jalandoni vs. Kit Thompson
Not many know about Ana Jalandoni.
That is, until she came out to reveal bruises from a severe beating she received courtesy of her lover, actor Kit Thompson.
The whole issue exploded March with Ana and her lawyers organizing an actual press conference.
According to Ana, Kit beat her black and blue after a night of partying in Tagaytay.
The actor might’ve lost it she said after waking up without her by his side.
Though she has since forgiven him, she is still bent on seeking justice.
Kit has kept his silence.
Barbie Imperial vs. Debbie Garcia
Hotties Barbie Imperial and Debbie Garcia added catfighting to their respective resumes engaging in the same at a Quezon City bar.
Supposedly, it was Barbie who rushed at Debbie, landing a couple of hits that left several marks.
Debbie said she was surprised because she considered Barbie a friend.
She has supposedly filed a number of complaints against her.
Barbie maintained she hasn’t received any notice relating the same.
If ever, she is ready, she said.
She is mum however as to allegations about the fight being about ex-boyfriend Diego Loyzaga having an affair with Debbie while they were still together.
Heart Evangelista, Chiz Escudero
Heart Evangelista and husband Chiz Escudero also made the news relating to them supposedly having already split.
Heart herself kept adding fuel to the fire with her cryptic posts.
Chiz is silent.
AJ Raval pregnancy issue
AJ Raval started making headlines after being linked to actor Aljur Abrenica.
Although they are yet to admit to the real status of their relationship beyond them being “close associates,” “friends,” “workmates,” “getting to know each other,” AJ has since been rumored to have actually already given birth to her and Aljur’s love child.
AJ denied this, deeming the whole idea absurd.
