Terrence Romeo has been showing flashes of his deadly form so far for San Miguel Beer and he is focused on further improving and regaining his old ways now that he’s finally recovered from injuries.
The flamboyant six-foot guard was saddled by injuries only seeing action in a grand total of eight games last season.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat kay God kasi nakakapaglaro na ulit ako wala nang nararamdaman. Nagfocus lang ako sa game namin pinaghahandaan ko kung paano ako makakabalik sa game condition kasi yung body ko nireready ko sya every game,” said Romeo who led the way for the Beermen in their 90-78 victory over Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings.
It was already the second time in the preseason exhibition games that Romeo breached the 20-point mark, exploding for 27 points in SMB’s first game.
Romeo added that he’s just taking advantage of the opportunity to play extended minutes and finally get his rhythm on the court and rediscover his touch from the field.
“Nagpapagaling ako tinititry ko na hindi ako mawala sa condition para kapag totally healed na yung body ko, ready yung body ko. Thank God worth it naman yung sacrifice,” he added.
Despite the sudden resurgence in his game, Romeo admitted that he’s still far from his peak condition and continuously undergoing therapy for his hamstring injury.
“Sa recovery tuloy pa rin yung therapy ko. Di na sya gaanong sumasakit pero nagti-tight pa rin once in a while. Inaalagaan ko lang rin talaga sa kain sa pahinga, siguro mga 99 percent na ako,” he shared.
