As expected, Alex Eala’s world ranking has improved significantly following her strong performances in the last two International Tennis Federation (ITF) events, including winning her first pro title this year.
Eala’s impressive showing enabled her to leapfrog 38 rungs higher from No. 266 to 228 after topping the W25 Yecla crown in Spain last week then followed it up with a quarterfinal finish in the W25 Madrid over the weekend.
It was her best ranking over the past two months after seeing her ranking of No. 215 plummet in April after struggling in various tournaments.
She grappled with first- and second-round finishes in four events, then slowly picked herself up with a quarters appearance in W25 Monastir in Tunisia mid-May that set the tone on her latest accomplishments.
Eala, whose ranking went as high as No. 214 in October last year, returns to Mallorca, Spain at the Rafa Nadal Academy to further intensify her training in hopes of nailing another title.
“A very positive three weeks comes to an end! Back to Mallorca to continue working,” Eala wrote on her social media.
