James Aranas continued his hot form, whji Indonesian Billy, 9-4, to rule the Bandung Open 10-Ball Championship on Monday, July 10, in Indonesia.
Fresh from winning the World Cup of Pool with Johann Chua as partner, Aranas displayed great poise, coming through with powerful breaks and delicate shots to win the event and pocket the Rp100,000,000 ((Indonesian Rupiah) ) prize (around P365,000).
Aranas started well, racing to 3-0 and 6-1 leads that proved too hard for Billy to overcome.
The closest the Indonesian could get was at 7-4 before Aranas finished him off by taking the last two racks of the race-to-9 contest.
Aranas’ win over Billy was a revenge of sort after Chua lost to the Indonesian star in the semis, 9-5.
Chua finished at third place in the tourney while another Pinoy bet Bernie Regalario wound up 8th place in his maiden international appearance.
