Bela Padilla and JC Santos are set to return to the big screen for their fifth movie this August.
Fans are already excited about it.
Said one, “Ready na akong masaktan ulit…”
Added another, “’Pag etong talagang dalawa na ‘to nag-team up panigurado iiyak na naman ako…”
Said yet another fan, “Lahat ng movie nila pinanood natin. We shouldn’t skip this one!”
Bela and JC’s onscreen partnership began in 2017 via the movie “100 Tula Para Kay Stella.”
It was followed by “The Day After Valentine’s” (2018), “On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets” (2020), and “366” (2022).
In their latest film titled “Wish You Were The One,” Bela plays Astrud, a senior advisor at a curtain store eager to win her ex-boyfriend Jordan (Kean Cipriano) back.
JC is Ellis, a beta male landscaper who has a beautiful, popular, classy girlfriend in Zoe (Franki Russel).
They will ultimately breakup with Zoe rejecting Ellis’ marriage proposal.
Hoping for their reconciliation, friends invite both to a wedding.
But Ellis tells them that he is already engaged. This is where Astrud comes in as his fake fiancée.
Astrud is delighted to take part in this charade just to be near Jordan who is the chef at the wedding.
Along the way, Astrud and Ellis slowly fall for each other.
Will they end up together?
Bela maintains the film is very different from past outings.
Written by Enrico Santos and directed by Derick Cabrido, “Wish You Were The One,” opens in cinemas nationwide on August 23.
