Nadine Lustre was among winners at the 71st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) awards held Sunday at the Fiesta Pavilion of the historic Manila Hotel.
The 29-year-old won best Actress for her performance in “Greed.”
Nadine expressed gratitude to the award-giving body in her acceptance speech.
She said, “Maraming-maraming salamat po sa FAMAS Awards. Isang malaking karangalan po para sa bumubuo ng ‘Greed’ at ng ‘Deleter’ na makasama po sa mga nominated ngayong gabi. Pero isang malaking karangalan din po na magkaroon nito. Gusto ko po itong ide-dedicate sa lahat po ng nagmamahal at sumusuporta sa akin. Sa buong pamilya ko po, sa partner ko po, sa friends ko, my team. Sa bumubuo po ng ‘Greed’ and of course to my Viva Films family…”
Nadine also thanked film director Yam Laranas “for trusting in me, for pushing me and for giving me this opportunity to do ‘Greed.’ Maraming salamat po.”
It is her second FAMAS Best Actress plum, having won the same in 2019 for her role in “Never Not Love You.”
Meanwhile, the film “Family Matters” emerged the big winner with four awards: Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Actor (Noel Trinidad), and Best Supporting Actress (Nikki Valdez).
Second to “Family Matters” with most wins is “Blue Room” with three trophies: Best Director for Ma-an Asuncion-Dagñalan, Best Cinematography for Neil Daza and Best Score for Mikey Amistoso and Jazz Nicolas.
