Mac Tallo’s comeback to the PBA may still have to wait as Converge is still trying to sort things out to the league some issues that go way back to the 29-year-old guard’s stint with NLEX.
Converge already signed Tallo to a deal during the offseason but his PBA return is currently facing impediments owing to a reported supposed six-month suspension he has to serve before he was released by the Road Warriors in 2019.
“Right now the management is taking care of it but di ko pa alam kung ano yung details pero they’re working it out, hinahandle nila yun,” said Converge head coach Aldin Ayo.
Without going into full details due to data privacy reasons, PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro said the league is still clearing something out with Tallo’s camp as well as his former team NLEX before making the verdict.
Ayo, for his part, is hopeful to see Tallo, who he handled back in their days with the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3, suit up for the FiberXers especially now that the team are in need of additional firepower following the departure of its two leadings scorers in Maverick Ahanmisi and Jeron Teng.
Tallo even actually joined Converge’s pre-season games and even showed out with a 24-point performance in the FiberXers sweep of the four-team pocket tournament.
Sana. We’re hoping but it will depend on the management or it will depend to the PBA, I really don’t know right now,” said Ayo.
