What difference a year can make?
Plenty.
The once unbeatable Letran Knights absorbed another crushing defeat at the hands of the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, 82-69, in the NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Friday, Nov. 3.
Credit EAC’s latest win to seniors Nat Cosejo and JP Maguilano who took charge in the absence of head coach Jerson Cabiltes.
That’s how confident the Generals against a team who completed a rare three-peat a year ago. In the first round, EAC beat Letran, 75-65.
Cosejo, who finished with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds and Maguliano tallied 20 points and nine rebounds.
With the help of Kyle Ochavo’s 3-of-4 shooting in the rainbow area, the Paco-based squad unleashed a 25-12 surge that gave them a 68-51 advantage going into the payoff period.
