Choco Mucho continued its rampage as it turned back F2 Logistics, 19-25, 25-8, 25-17, 25-19, for an impressive seventh straight victory in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City late Tuesday, Nov. 21.
The Flying Titans bucked a slow start behind the efforts of Sisi Rondina and Isa Molde to hike their win-loss tally to 7-1 to draw level with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
The Crossovers, on the other hand, displayed grace under pressure as they survived the Cignal side, 17-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 16-14, for their fifth straight win.
Eya Laure spearheaded the assault particularly in the crunch time to hand the HD Spikers their third defeat in 9 games.
In a game that lasted two hours and 13 minutes, Laure stood tallest with 26 points built on 21 kills, three blocks and two aces, including one that sealed the victory for the Crossovers.
Chery Tiggo was leading 13-11 in the pivotal fifth set when Cignal drained three attack points courtesy of Roselyn Doria and Ces Molina to grab the 14-13 match point advantage.
Creamline remains on top with a perfect 7-0 record.
The loss dropped F2 Logistics to 4-5 – their semis bid now in peril.
Rondina led the Flying Titans anew, scoringall her 21 points from the attack line, while Molde was equally unstoppable with her 13-point production.
Kat Tolentino and Cherry Rose Nunag also stepped up for Choco Mucho with 10 points apiece, even as Deanna Wong provided all-around plays by unloading 24 of the team’s 27 excellent sets.
The Flying Titans torched the net with 63 kills, almost twice that of the Cargo Movers who managed only 36.
None from F2 Logistics scored in double figures with skipper Aby Maraño finishing with nine points.
