There’s a new, exciting addition to Quezon City’s entertainment scene: RAMPA.
The groundbreaking venture, positioned as a haven for drag enthusiasts, is meant to cater to LGBTQ+ supporters, and everyone looking to experience the unparalleled energy of avant-garde drag shows.
Owned by a dynamic team of visionaries, RAMPA is the brainchild of acclaimed actor, business leader, and LGBTQ+ Advocate RS Francisco, “Drag Race Philippines” Season 1 Winner Precious Paula Nicole, “Drag Race” superstars Viñas de Luxe and Brigiding, Philippines’ Acoustic Icon Ice Seguerra, actress-producer Liza Diño, LGBTQIA advocate and businesswoman Cecille Bravo, and nightlife entrepreneur Loui Gene Cabel.
“When you meet the right people at the right moment for the right purpose, what you create is automatically elevated to not just a business enterprise but a vision with a purpose. I can’t wait for people to experience what we have in store at Rampa,” says Ice.
“This is a fulfillment of a dream to elevate the drag scene in the Philippines and continue to support the future of drag as an art form in the country,” shares RS.
The collaboration brings together a wealth of experience, creativity, and a shared passion for creating a space that transcends traditional norms and fosters inclusivity.
Precious Paula Nicole, expressing her excitement, said, “From being a performer in drag clubs, then as a contestant on a reality show, I can’t believe that now I will be a co-owner of my own drag club and nurture our baby drag queens. Dreams do come true.”
Benefits for the LGBTQ+ Community: Representation Matters
The club is not just a venue for entertainment; it is a platform for empowerment and representation. By featuring the country’s best drag shows and performances, the club aims to break stereotypes and celebrate the vibrant diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.
The club is committed to hosting themed nights that cater to different segments of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. From Lesbian Nights to Transgender Nights, RAMPA Drag Club will be a welcoming space for everyone, creating an atmosphere of acceptance, understanding, and celebration.
What to Expect: A Home for All
RAMPA will transcend traditional boundaries and become a home not just for drag supporters but also for the entire LGBTQ+ community. It will be a space where people from all walks of life can come together, celebrate diversity, and revel in the joyous expression of drag artistry.
Expect top-notch performances, avant-garde drag shows, and an electrifying atmosphere that mirrors the vivacious spirit of Quezon City.
With its commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and entertaining environment, RAMPA is set to become a cornerstone of LGBTQ+ representation and celebration in the Philippines.
Liza adds, “Our mission is to remove the stigma against going to LGBTQ+ clubs and venues. Drag is an art, and it’s something that even straight men and women can enjoy and embody. We know straight women who also do drag, as well as straight guys. Drag is like going to a theater performance, and we want Rampa to be that venue where we can celebrate who we are.”
RAMPA is set to open January 17.
