Fil-Am ice skater Cathryn Limketkai made her presence felt as she bagged the silver medal in the junior women’s event of the 2024 Reykjavik International Games in Iceland last weekend.
The 18-year-old Limketkai logged 51.14 in the short program and 73.02 in the free skating to finish second in the seven-player category.
Finland’s Jenni Hirvonen topped the podium by tallying 126.65 points while Argentine Cecilia Donohue (105.90) earned the bronze medal.
Host bet Lena Rut Asgeirsdottir (104.79) came in fourth followed by Great Britain’s Tarren Mayer (88.80, 5th), Iceland’s Dharma Tomasdottir (74.15, 6th) and Denmark’s Victoria Mogelgaard (62.83).
Limketkai, who currently lives in Boston, alongside Sofia Frank, ruled the senior and junior women’s division of the Philippine National Figure Skating Championship last November.
She also competed with Frank in the 2023 Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy in Thailand where they ended up as 9th and 15th place, respectively.
