The best 3-on-3 cagers from different parts of the country take center stage when the Red Bull Half Court returns here next month.
Hopefuls from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao slug it out against each other for the right to earn slots to the World Finals in New York City in October.
Red Bull Half Court Tournament Commissioner Eric Altamirano believes the event would be a perfect avenue for the country’s half court specialists to showcase their skills at a higher level.
“Basketball is an important part of the Filipino culture, and we believe that this tournament will provide a platform for young and aspiring ballers to showcase their skills and passion for the game,” said Altamirano.
“We are especially excited to continue expanding this year with our qualifiers in Davao,” he added.
Four players – 18 years-old-and-above – will comprise each team in the event using FIBA rules and format – pool play style in the first round and knockout system in the next round.
The registration opens on Friday, Feb. 16, with qualifying events spread to Cebu, Manila and Davao. Cebu Qualifiers will start on March 9, Davao on April 6, while Manila begins on April 13 and the National Finals on April 27.
