The University of Perpetual Junior Altas are looking to secure the top seed and a twice-to-beat incentive in the semis when they clash with the San Sebastian College at the end of the elimination round of the NCAA Season 99 Junior Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 3, at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City.
The Junior Altas and the Staglets clash at 8 a.m. with the former out to follow up their 94-88 win over the reigning champion Letran Squires.
The Tony Tamayo owned-UPH, first entered the Final Four in 2010 under Coach Tonichi Pujante with players like Gelo Alolino, Joseph Ariobu, Chester Saldua, Flash Sadiwa, Joel Brito, Axel Iñigo and Mark Bitoy.
Expect an exciting contest as the Staglets will also go into game fully motivated following their 99-84 win over the Mapua Red Robins on Friday.
The Staglets are tied with the Red Robins and Squires – all with similar 6-2 records.
The Red Robins are out to restore their pride as they go for a win against the San Beda Red Cubs at 12 noon and so are the Squires when they face the La Salle Greenhills.
