4 p.m. – Capital1 vs SGA
6 p.m. – Farm Fresh vs Akari
Farm Fresh guns for its second win when it faces a winless but dangerous Akari side on Tuesday, March 5, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Match is at 6 p.m. after Capital1 and Strong Group Athletics collide at 4 p.m. in their bid to crawl out of identical 0-2 holes.
The Foxies are seeking to use the momentum of their morale-boosting 25-16, 25-18, 25-16 victory over the Solar Spikers last Thursday, Feb. 29, that evened their win-loss record at 1-1.
But the players of coach Jerry Yee are guarded against the Chargers, who endured hard-fought losses to big guns Cignal HD Spikers and Creamline Cool Smashers that put them at 0-2 with four other squads.
The dynamic duo of Trisha Tubu and Chinnie Arroyo is expected to fuel Farm Fresh anew after conspiring for 26 points the last time, but more offensive help are needed against a strong Akari frontline composed of Fifi Sharma, Dindin Manabat and Grethcel Soltones.
Against Creamline last Thursday, the trio wound up combining for 37 points.
Also out to get their elusive first victory are Capital1 and SGA, who are fresh from defeats against Farm Fresh and Chery Tiggo, respectively.
Capital1 coach Roger Gorayeb is not losing hope that he could find the right combination for his players headed by Jannine Navarro, Sydney Niegos, Heather Guino-o, Jorelle Singh and Patty Orendain.
SGA, meanwhile, has Dolly Versoza, Sheeka Espinosa and Justine Rebleza to lead its charge.
