Veteran guard RJ Jazul and RR Garcia inked their respective contract extensions with Phoenix, the team posted on Wednesday, March 6.
The 37-year-old Jazul signed another playing year with the Fuel Masters, who have been his home in the PBA since 2017 after Alaska traded him for Simon Enciso.
The former Letran star averaged 7.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest, giving ample support for Phoenix which reached the semifinals last conference. However, they succumbed to last edition’s bridesmaid Magnolia Hotshots, 3-1.
Meanwhile, his fellow senior Garcia agreed for a 1-year extension as well for his 11th year in the pro league.
Jazul and Garcia will continue to share their experience and guide the Fuel Masters’ core of young guns in Ken Tuffin, Ricci Rivero, Raffy Verano, Matthew Daves along with frontliners Javee Mocon and Jason Perkins.
They will open the Philippine Cup stint against the NorthPort Batang Pier on a double-header Friday, March 8, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
