The Manila Stars aim to go deep in the brand new Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League 2024 Season after adding firepower with its new signing.
The Stars already flexed their potential after ruling the recently-concluded 87th Araw ng Dabaw Invitational Tournament where they whipped hometown bets Davao Aguilas, 81-60 in the Finals.
The Stars first defeated Valenzuela Classic, 95-89 before surviving Junex Tuna 94-92.
Manila, however, lost to Davao, 90-96, to settle for second at the end of the elimination round before exacting revenge in the winner-take-all final.
Heady point guard Renzo Navarro won the Finals MVP honor – a huge confidence booster heading into the regular season that fires off April 6.
He averaged 15 points and 11 assists.
Along with Navarro are former PBA players Carl Bryan Cruz and Rabeh Al-Hussaini along with guys like Francis Escandor, Kobe Monje, Shawn Umali, Ira Batiller and Paolo Javelona.
The Stars are looking to bounce back from a lackluster season last year when they finished 14th in the North standings with a 4-23 record.
