Brothers Kenji Duremdes and Kylle Magdangal have already left the Tigers’ den at University of Santo Tomas to join the University of the East Red Warriors.
The sons of PBA great and current MPBL commissioner Kenneth Duremdes made the move to Recto following forgettable two seasons with the Tigers.
Magdangal is expected to be even buried deep into head coach Pido Jarencio’s guard rotation with the arrival of several players, making the transfer to UE the most logical choice.
Kenji, on the other hand, is expected to play a key role for the Warriors given his deadly touch from the perimeter and quickness.
The brothers, however, will have to wait for another year before they can wear the school’s famed red and white jersey, but are eligible to play for two seasons.
UST ended last season with a 2-12 record.
With the Red Warriors, Kenji and Kylle are primed to get the opportunity to showcase their wares especially that head coach Jack Santiago has been looking for ways to fill the void left by the departure of last season’s Mythical Team member Rey Remogat.
Interestingly, Santiago isn’t entirely stranger to the brothers, having played alongside their father, Kenneth during their time in the pros.
Jojit Duremdes, younger brother of the original “Captain Marbel,” once played for the Recto-based school.
