He was fast and quick like a thief in the night.
Armed with a deadly left, Mike “Magic” Plania took just 12 seconds to put Nicaraguan Martin Diaz into dreamland, scoring a technical knockout (TKO) win in their 8-round featherweight bout at Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort, Miami last weekend.
The 27-year-old Plania went for the kill right away, dropping Diaz down to his knees at the 2:48 mark of the first round for a perfect comeback from a heartbreaking defeat to American Angelo Leo last January in Florida.
It was the General Santos prized fighter’s 16th KO and 30th win overall against four defeats while Diaz suffered his 16th defeat.
So determined was Plania, he just threw four punches to complete his mission and redeemed himself from a third round defeat to Leo in their WBA Continental North American featherweight title duel.
