Is it even possible to hate Piolo Pascual?
Well, the actor hopes so, if only for his upcoming role as a sly, corrupt politician in the upcoming family drama “Pamilya Sagrado.”
In it, he is stepping out of his comfort zone as he takes on his most vile role to date as Rafael Sagrado.
Said Piolo, “He’s not all good. He starts out really dark.”
But why take on such a role? Isn’t he afraid it might alienate his fan base?
“I always try to diversify and do roles na alam kong hindi ko pa nagagawa and that would really challenge me as an artist,” shared Piolo. “I hope fans welcome the idea as well.”
“Pamilya Sagrado” is a gripping tale on the value of brotherhood and loyalty to one’s family.
The story will navigate the complex world of fraternities and hazing and what it means to go against one’s morals for the sake of protecting one’s reputation.
As Rafael, an influential governor, Piolo would do anything to continue his family’s political reign.
Adding to the excitement are Kyle Echarri and Grae Fernandez as Moises and Justine (Kyle and Grae), respectively.
Moises is simple, pure. He has big dreams despite coming from an impoverished background.
Justine is rich, entitled. As Rafael’s son, there is innate pressure from his family to be as successful as his dad in life.
Despite their differences, Moises and Justine eventually form an unbreakable bond.
The Sagrado family’s reputation will be put in great danger when a wrongful death of a student due to hazing gets traced to a fraternity group led by Justine.
With everything at risk, the Sagrados go great lengths to protect their sacred image and throughout the process, dark secrets come to light and threaten to break their family apart.
Directed by Lawrence Fajardo, Andoy Ranay, and Rico Navarro, “Pamilya Sagrado” boasts of a powerhouse cast of industry veterans Shaina Magdayao, Mylene Dizon, Rosanna Roces, Aiko Melendez, Tirso Cruz III, John Arcilla, and Joel Torre.
The cast also includes Daniela Stranner, Jeremiah Lisbo, Alyanna Angeles, Micaela Santos, River Joseph, Emilio Daez, Sean Tristan, Austin Cabatana, Luis Vera Perez, Dustine Mayores, Miggs Cuaderno, Valentino Jaafar, Isaiah dela Cruz, Beaver Magtalas, and Renshi de Guzman.
“Pamilya Sagrado” premieres June 17, 8:45pm on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, and TFC.
