Stell, considered the most recognizable member of the popular boy band SB19, has dropped his debut single as solo artist.
Titled “Room,” the single is a sexy slice of dance pop that showcases Stell’s range as singer, performer.
According to Warner Music Philippines’ A&R Director Kelley Mangahas, they are more than thrilled to have Stell sign with them, recognizing his potential as a niche act who, at this point, is still very much “evolving.”
“He is yet to reach his full potential and we at Warner are more than ready to help him achieve that,” he related.
Sarah Ismail, Managing Director of Warner Music Philippines added, “We are excited to be on this journey with Stell, an artist whose drive to excel inspires many. I’m confident that we can closely develop his personal sound and style for his upcoming music, and we look forward to Stell leaving his mark on the industry.”
Asked what prompted him to launch a career beyond SB19, Stell explained, “I always felt like this is what my supporters wanted. I was fearful to give in before but obviously, I have since decided to give it a go and here I am.”
He made clear, “I am not leaving SB19. This is just me trying to widen my horizon as an artist.”
Asked if he got the approval of the rest of SB19, Stell said, “They were all very supportive of the idea. They were the ones who keep pushing me to actually giving the solo thing a try.”
Stell went on to reveal that SB19’s Pablo actually wrote “Room” for him.
“He did almost everything including the beats and lyrics. On my part, I simply suggested that it should convey a message.”
And what is that?
“That we should be confident enough to face our fears. That we should be ready to soar to greater heights despite our apprehensions and that we should be brave enough to become the best version of ourselves.”
On June 18, Stell will open for David Foster at the Araneta Coliseum.
This will be followed by a North American tour from June 22 to 30.
On July 27 and 28, Stell will headline the concert “Ang Ating Tinig” with Julie Anne San Jose.
The release of “Room” is a prelude to his upcoming EP which will be released in August.
