Pressure is on for Gab Lagman and Hyacinth Callado.
They are to banner “Chasing in the Wild,” the third installment of Gwy Saludes’ University Series.
Set to premiere on Viva One, August 16, “Chasing in the Wild” follows the highly successful “The Rain in España,” starring Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo; and “Safe Skies, Archer” starring Jerome Ponce, Krissha Viaje.
“I have to admit there’s huge pressure,” said Gab. “We could only hope and pray that people would support our love team as much as they supported that of our friends, Marco and Heaven as with Jerome and Krissha.”
“Of course, we are doing our best,” added Hyacinth. “Our story is quite fun and cute too so, yeah, hopefully would watch it.”
This early, many are hoping they would become lovers for real but the two would rather take it slow.
“of course, there’s always that possibility but we are focused on making this tandem work,” said Gab. “I love working with Hya. I enjoy our partnership so, at this point, I aim to protect that.”
Hyacinth related, “I feel safe around Gab and I’m really happy that he is my love team partner. I’m not thinking of anything beyond that.”
Directed by Thop Nazareno (best known for “Edward”, Best Film at the Young Critics Circle Awards and TV5 hit series “Niña, Niño”), “Chasing in the Wild” follows the story of fun-loving engineering student and basketball team captain Sevi Camero (Gab) and Elyse Ledezma (Hyacinth), a rich and spoiled management student and cheerleader from a rival school.
From cat-dog banters to friendly breakfast dates to a five-year relationship full of love, we follow all the ups and downs and milestones of Elyse and Sevi’s relationship. But as they grow together, can their young love survive the realities of life?
Gab and Hyacinth are joined by a strong supporting cast: Dominic Ochoa and Angelu de Leon play the role of Elyse’s parents, Alfred Ledezma and Adriana Erin Ledezma. Jairus Aquino plays Shan, Elyse’s half-brother. Wilbert Ross plays Arkin, Sevi’s bestfriend.
Anjo Yllana, PJ Abellana, Yumi Garcia, and Keann Johnson, are some of the new characters that will bring color to Elyse and Sevi’s life.
A pre-season special episode is set to premiere on August 2 only on Viva One.
