Carlos Yulo immediately took to social media his gratitude to his father, Mark Andrew Yulo, for supporting him from the sidelines during the Philippine Olympic team’s victory parade in Manila on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 14.
“Maraming salamat Pa. Masaya ako nakita kita don nakasuporta! Pasensya na pa hindi ako masyado nakakaway, ang daming nagpa-autograph hehe,” Yulo wrote moments after the festivities ended at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Vito Cruz, Manila.
“Kitakits soon Pa,” he added, tagging the social media account of his father.
Photos of the Yulo patriarch waving at the parade float along with the huge crowd went viral online, along with a huge poster bearing, “Caloy, dito papa mo!”
The act touched the hearts of the netizens after the family fiasco surfaced during Yulo’s historic two-gold-medal haul at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Prior to the parade, the younger Yulo appeared before the House of the Representatives, who rewarded his feat with monetary incentives, as well as a real estate company, which turned over his three-bedroom condominium bonus.
