Elaiza Yulo is thrilled with the prospect of competing with very popular brother Carlos and three other Paris Olympics veterans in next year’s 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
If stars align, Elaiza will have his Paris Games double gold medalist brother as her No. 1 cheerer when she vies along with Olympians Aleah Finnegan, Levi Jung-Ruivivar and Emma Malabuyo.
Elaiza is now the third Yulo in the PH gymnastics team, joining “King Carlos” and Eldrew.
“Masaya po and nakaka-excite din po, kasi ‘yong presence po nila kuya Caloy talagang nakakaboost din po ng morale” said Elaiza after attending a gymnastics clinic which led by Olympians Finnegan and Malabuyo last weekend.
“Masaya po ako kasi nandyan po sila to support and to cheer po,” she added.
With the help of Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP), Finnegan and Malabuyo imparted their knowledge and showcased their skills to aspiring Filipino gymnasist who are dreaming of becoming an Olympian someday.
“Masaya po sila magturo, nakaka-enjoy po, marami po kaming natutunan,” Elaiza continued.
Before her much-awaited campaign in Bangkok, the Grade 10 student of Adamson will have her hands full as she participates in Batang Pinoy and JRC Stars Artistic Gymnastics Championships also set in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Nakaka-excite pero medyo nakakakaba rin po,” said the youngest of the Yulos. “Kasi parang pagpasok kopalang ng senior, SEA Games na po agad kaya nakakakaba din po.”
If everything will fall into the right place, there will be three Yulos in the Los Angeles Olympics.
