One of the biggest OPM bands in the country, Eraserheads will reunite and set the hardcourt on fire with its immortal songs in the opening ceremony of UAAP Season 87 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sept. 7, this year’s host University of the Philippines announced in a statement.
Known for its diverse music including big hits “With A Smile”, “Elesi”, “Spolarium”, “Magasin”, and “Ang Huling El Bimbo”
E-Heads headlines a star-studded cast of guests in the 87th edition of the eight-school tournament which has its theme of “Stronger, Better, Together.”
“We’re happy to share the news that the EHeads are going to share their magic with the UAAP as we start Season 87. It’s happening at the perfect time,” Office of Athletics and Sports Development Director Bo Perasol stressed.
“They’ve reached the pinnacle of their career. They’ve reached the top, disbanded, reunited and have come full circle,” Perasol added.
Eraserheads, which is composed of Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala and Raimund Marasigan, recently received the Gawad Oblation Award – a coveted recognition given by country’s top university to its alumni who had “extraordinary service with or in the name of UP.”
“They are true music icons and legends and our national pride.”
UP will announce the other performers on the “opening day extravaganza.”
