Gilas Pilipinas women’s basketball team star Jack Animam is bringing her talent on Romanian soil after signing with FCC UAV Arad, the team announced on its social media post.
The 25-year-old Animam is going to play for Arad, one of the successful teams in the Liga Națională (National League) în Romania with 9 championships. They are tied with Rapid București for the most number of titles.
“Our club and player Jack Danielle Animam have reached an agreement to collaborate in the 2024-2025 season!” Arad wrote.
“Welcome to Arad, Jack Danielle!” it added.
This will mark as the sixth team for the five-time UAAP champion in international leagues since she started playing abroad in 2021.
Animam already had stints in Serbia, France, China and Australia where she last competed for Ringwood Hawks in NBL1.
Animam, who led the Nationals in the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Pre-Qualifiers, averaged 13 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1.7 steals in three outings against Brazil, Senegal and eventual champion Hungary.
Despite its gallant run, Gilas Pilipinas went home winless in the qualifying stage.
