Tony Ynot and Allen Liwag joined forces on both ends as College of St. Benilde clobbered Emilio Aguinaldo College, 77-55, to seize the solo lead in NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Ynot took exploded in the offensive department by unloading 16 points while Liwag took charge in the paint by collaring 15 rebounds to spearhead the Blazers to their third straight win in as many outings.
St. Benilde directed the game tempo throughout, leading by as many as 23 points, 75-52.
Though enjoying a comfortable 59-48 cushion at the end of the third, the Blazers still went on full throttle in the final canto while limiting the Generals to only seven points.
King Gurtiza scored 13 points while Harvey Pagsanjan added 10 points for EAC, which skidded to 1-2.
