Congresswoman Ann Matibag of San Pedro City, Laguna called for a meeting among local government unit’s top offices to discuss long term solutions on flooding.

A total of 11 barangays in San Pedro City were submerged in rainwater especially in areas near Laguna Lake following the onslaught of Typhoon Kristine.
This forced people from the area to evacuate from their respective residences.
Matibag met with representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), National Disaster Risk Reduction and theManagement Council (NDRRMC), San Pedro’s City Engineers, and the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) at the Silid Quatro SAX in Barangay San Antonio in San Pedro City.
Some of the solutions proposed during the meeting include the improvement of the city’s drainage systems and sewers, and the construction of pumping stations, as with flood control gates.
