Fil-American setter Alohi Robins-Hardy will embark on a new chapter in her career, this time, as an assistant coach of the University of the Philippines women’s volleyball team, the team announced Tuesday, Nov. 20.
The 28-year-old seasoned playmaker has been tasked to join the Fighting Maroons sidelines for their coming stint in the UAAP Season 87 women’s tournament.
With her vast experiences and skills, Robins-Hardy’s addition is going to be a huge boost for the Diliman-based squad, especially in guiding rising star and setter Heart Magsombol.
She also teams up with UP new head tactician Benson Bocboc.
Comprising the Lady Maroons are Nina Ytang, Nica Celis, and Irah Jaboneta and new talents in the likes of Kianne Olango, Yesha Noceja, and Jothea Mae Ramos in their roster.
An 8-time UAAP champion, the Lady Maroons are out to make up for a forgettable stints in the 8-school league last season.
The Waimānalo, Hawaii native started her stint on Philippine soil way back in 2019 where she won the PSL Best Setter award while also leading the Cignal HD Spikers to two runner-up finishes.
In that year, Robins-Hardy played as well for the PH team in ASEAN Grand Prix, leading the Filipinas to a bronze-medal finish.
Aside from her campaign in the Philippines, Robins-Hardy also brought her act in France, Serbia, and Czech Republic.
