Maris Racal has come out to admit being romantically involved and for real with love team partner Anthony Jennings.
Her tearful admission days came after screenshots of their text exchanges was made public by Anthony’s ex, Jamela Villanueva, sparking huge controversy.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN, Maris admitted, “Nagkamali ako, and I wanna say sorry for everything I have done,” explaining that it all happened mainly because she was “in a very dark place” and was “lonely.”
“I was getting attention from Anthony. The kind of attention that I needed. Nadala ako sa emosyon. I knew that was wrong.”
The 27-year-old revealed it eventually led to her splitting up with musician Rico Blanco.
“I came clean right away I told my ex everything, and I ended things with him, and then we broke up.”
Maris would go on to lay blame on Anthony for making her believe that he was single.
But when fans started bashing her, insinuating that she caused the breakup of Anthony and Jamela, she pestered Anthony to make public that he is single only to be told that he was “waiting for the right moment.”
“I didn’t want to be pushy. I didn’t want to aggravate things. So I waited and kept quiet.”
But the continued bashing from fans was taking its toll on Maris.
When Anthony eventually did admit to ending things with Jamela, Maris was already distancing herself from him as “The infatuation and the attraction died.”
Little did she know that it was the start of something even bigger than she anticipated.
Out came Jamela’s screenshots.
“When I read it, I was gutted. I was shocked. I’m truly, truly embarrassed. Dahil nakita lahat ng tao ‘yon without my consent, against my will.”
She made clear she has nothing against Jamela doing so.
“I get her pain. I get her wrath. I get her anger. Kaya pala ganun. Because she was clueless about everything.”
Maris went on to apologize for the all-too provocative content of her messages to Anthony, insisting “Ganun talaga ako pag nagbigay ng pagmamahal.”
She would go on to tell fans and supporters: “I’m truly sorry you get to see that. But, I can assure you, tuloy pa rin ako. Tuloy pa rin ang laban. Magta-trabaho pa rin ako kahit mahirap. Hindi pa rin namamatay yung apoy sa puso ko.”
