ABS-CBN is cooking up something exciting for next year – a show about a group of private military contractors dubbed “Incognito.”
Note that it stars some of their biggest talents including Daniel Padilla and Richard Gutierrez.
Said show director Lester Ong, “Our main aim is to level up. We are looking to market this abroad so, very international ang dating nito.”
It comes with hard work.
According to Lester, the whole cast had to undergo intensive training to make their performance realistic.
“Their training included gun skills, tactical fighting, urban warfare. We hired professionals to train them. Mahirap for sure, pero bilib ako sa kanila dahil they all invested huge effort to learn.”
For Richard, “Incognito” is a realization of a dream.
“Matagal ko nang ni-research ‘yung ganitong klaseng concept about private military contractors,” he told us.
“I’ve been a fan of this concept. I’ve been reading books about it through the years and finally, here it is. Isa ito sa maiko-consider kong dream projects. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time,” he added.
He attested to “Incognito” being more intense than his past series “Iron Heart.”
“I felt like we elevated action as a genre in ‘Iron Heart.’ But with ‘Incognito,’ we want to elevate it even more. I thought, kaya pa namin i-push. With the right timing, right budget, location, and creativity, kaya pa,” he said. “So, nabigyan kami ng opportunity to do exactly that dito sa ‘Incognito.’”
Daniel looks at “Incognito” as a big, bold step for him career-wise.
“It’s a huge challenge for me. First time na sasabak ako sa ganito kabigat at ka-intense na action na simula pa lang ng araw mo, adrenaline rush na hanggang gabi. Very fulfilling kasi may mga stunts na hindi madadali pero ‘pag nagawa namin ‘yon, very fulfilling. It’s very new for me but masaya,” he said.
Is he pressured somewhat having relatives that made their mark via the action genre?
Note that Daniel is the son of Rommel Padilla, brother of Sen. Robin Padilla.
“Wala naman silang binibigay na pressure sa akin,” he said.
“Wala naman akong nararamdaman na kaba. Hindi ko alam. I’m just doing my best. Kung ano kalabasan, eh ‘di yun na ‘yun.
“Iba-iba naman ang timpla namin. Magaling si Tito Robin, mahusay. Ang tatay ko nando’n din. Tignan natin kung ano ang mai-o-offer ko.”
He added, “Excited din akong pakita sa erpat ko ‘to. Parang panis siya sa akin dito.Joke lang. Love you ‘Pa.”
Also featuring Ian Veneracion, Richard Gutierrez, Baron Geisler, Kaila Estrada, Anthony Jennings and Maris Racal, “Incognito” will be available for streaming on Netflix starting January 17, next year.
It will be made available on iWantTFC on January 18, and on the Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, TV5, and A2Z on January 20.
