After helping the UP Fighting Maroons capture UAAP Season 87 championship, Quentin Millora-Brown is keeping his door open to any possibilities as far as the next chapter of his career is concerned.
And that includes a possible stint with Gilas Pilipinas under the program of head coach Tim Cone and making the jump to the professional scene through the PBA.
A one-and-done player for the Fighting Maroons, the 6-foot-10 forward shared that he’s been weighing his options very well.
No rush for now.
Of course, after all his sacrifices, he wants first to savor the sweetness of their championship – the school’s second in four years.
“You know, it’ll be an amazing opportunity if it comes up, but I’m just taking it one day at a time before I figure out where I’m gonna play next,” said Millora-Brown.
“I’m just excited for any opportunity that comes my way,” he added.
It has been long reported that QMB could be eligible to play as a local in FIBA-sanctioned tournaments as, according to him, he was able to secure his Philippine passport before the age of 16.
Still, the bruising big man might need to prove his eligibility first before really entertaining the idea of donning the national tri-colors.
Should he be given the clearance, Gilas might have added another potent big man to join a solid frontcourt for the future in the 7-foot-3 Kai Sotto and 6-foot-10 AJ Edu.
Millora-Brown made waves in his lone season in the UAAP although he impressed more for his motor skills, speed for his size and hustle.
His biggest UAAP game probably was in their 66-62 win in Finals Game 3 where Millora-Brown tallied a double-double output of 14 points and 10 rebounds – highlighted by his two clutch free throws and offensive rebounds in the final minutes of the match.
