We know how good an actor Dennis Trillo is.
We’ve already seen him earn numerous accolades for the same through the years.
“Green Bones,” his latest film, an entry to this years’ Metro Manila Film Festival, serves to further solidify this.
We were present at an advanced screening and we agree with what everyone there said: He is to reap a slew of awards for his performance in the film.
But Dennis is seemingly not too keen on it.
All that said, “Green Bones” director Zig Dulay wants him to get one at the very least.
He told us, “Amazing siya kasi dahil hanggang ngayon, lagi siyang may binibigay na sobra dun sa expectations. Kung may isang wish man ako ngayong Pasko, sana ma-recognize yung nai-share niya na talent, na husay dito sa ‘Green Bones.’”
Hard as it was for him to give life to his character, Dennis commended both Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza for the inspiring story.
“Green Bones,” as based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs, was written by National Artist Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza.
It follows the story of convict Domingo Zamora, who is held in a penal farm for murdering his sister and her daughter.
Already up for parole, newly assigned prison guard Xavier (Ruru Madrid) is out to make sure that he remains behind bars no matter what.
Aside from Dennis and Ruru, it also stars Michael De Mesa, Alessandra De Rossi, Ronnie Lazaro, Mikoy Morales, Wendell Ramos, Gerhard Acao, Iza Calzado, Sofia Pablo, among others.
It opens in cinemas on December 25.
