Sofia Pablo is set to banner GMA’s latest Afternoon Prime offering “Prinsesa ng City Jail.”
To premiere on January 13, the story follows her character Princess, a young girl raised near a prison by her jail guard father.
Princess will bring light to the lives of the people around her, especially those living behind bars.
Deep inside, Princess still longs for the mother who abandoned her.
Her life would change when she meets a young inmate, Xavier, as played by her love team partner Allen Ansay, who, in the story, is also dealing familial issues.
As their friendship blossoms, Princess teaches Xavier to forgive and forget.
Xavier, meanwhile, will play a key role in Princess finally meeting her long-lost mother as played by Beauty Gonzalez, who is involved in a complicated love triangle with Dominic Ochoa’s Raymond and Denise Laurel’s Divina.
Also part of the show are: Ayen Munji-Laurel as Leilani, Xavier’s estranged mother; Jean Saburit as Sonya, Raymond’s evil mother; Keempee De Leon as Dado, the adoptive father of Princess; Ina Feleo as Jenny, Divina’s cousin.
Then there’s Will Ashley as Onse, the childhood friend of Princess; Radson Flores as Justin, Xavier’s best friend; Pauline Mendoza as Mimi, Sharlene’s sister; Lauren King as Libby, the entitled daughter of Sharlene and Raymond.
Produced by the GMA Entertainment Group, headed by Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, Assistant Vice President for Drama Ali Nokom-Dedicatoria, Senior Program Manager Camille D. Hermoso, and Executive Producer Darling Pulido Torres, the show is under the helm of esteemed director Jerry Lopez Sineneng.
With a creative team consists of Creative Director Aloy Adlawan, Creative Consultant Des Severino, Head Writer John Kenneth De Leon, Writers Renato Custodio, Mark Angos, and Benson Logronio, and Brainstormer Meryl Bunyi, “Prinsesa ng City Jail” will air weekdays at 3:20pm on GMA Afternoon Prime.
