Aegis are set to stage “Halik sa Ulan” a pre-Valentine’s concert on February 1 and 2 at the New Frontier Theater.
Apart from entertaining fans, the band aims to honor late member Mercy Sunot through the series of shows.
Mercy, 48, died November last year at the Stanford Hospital and Clinics in San Francisco, California, after battling cancer.
She has been the main vocalist of the group since they formed in 1995.
Her sisters, vocalists Julie and Ken Sunot, waxed emotional reflecting on her passing during a recent press conference.
Juliet admitted the 2-night concert will definitely be different compared to past performances as “iba talaga nung kumpleto kami.”
Tearing up, she added, “Pero kailangan lang namin na mas lalo pang galingan.
Ken, on her part, shared how she used to gather courage performing in shows through the urging of Mercy.
Asked what they remember most about Mercy, Juliet shared, “Marami… hanggang ngayon talaga hindi ako makapaniwala.
Many are speculating that they are going to find a suitable replacement for Mercy, but they were quick to denounce this.
They are also set to release a new song during the concert, dedicated to Mercy.
Joining Aegis in shows are Morissette, Jona, Julie Anne San Jose, Formula 5 and Ogie Alcasid.
“Halik Sa Ulan” is produced by Cues + Fues Advertising, Inc and is directed by Frank Lloyd Mamaril, FLM Creatives & Productions, Inc. head.
