Senator Imee Marcos is not keen on discussing the current situation of her close friend, film director Darryl Yap.
Darryl has been indicted of cyber libel by a Muntinlupa court over the teaser of his movie, “The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma.”
A portion of the teaser supposedly maligned actor-TV host Vic Sotto who went on to file a cyber libel complaint against the film director, seeking 35 million pesos in damages, including 15 million pesos in exemplary damages and 20 million pesos in moral damages.
Darryl is currently out on bail.
In a recent forum at Kamuning Bakery, the lawmaker refused to comment on the matter simply maintaining, “May kaso na e.”
She made her feelings about it obvious, however, adding, “Ito kasing si Darryl, hindi maawat.”
In a past interview, both Imee and Darryl admitted to arguing a whole lot relating “Maid in Malacañang” and “Martyr or Murderer,” films that tackled the story of the Marcoses during and after their stay in Malacañang.
“Matigas ang ulo namin pareho,” Imee said of Darryl then.
There is a third installment, supposedly.
But it remains in limbo with both Darryl and Imee not agreeing on how to approach it, particularly the ending.
“Hindi nga malaman kung ano ang ending,” said Imee, suppressing laughter.
All that said, Imee expressed confidence that Darryl will eventually overcome the legal hurdle.
“Mautak naman ‘yun,” she said. “Alam ko kaya niyang labanan sa korte ‘yan at ipakita ang nararapat.”
Imee is seeking re-election under the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas ticket.
