Manila, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) deported four alien fugitives wanted by authorities in Taipei for serious crimes, it was learned yesterday. Immigration Commissioner Ricardo A. David Jr. said the foreigners were deported aboard a China Airlines flight to Taipei, Taiwan that left the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last Thursday. David identified the four deportees as Chang Che- Wei, Yeh Ching-Shun, Chen Po-Hua, and Yen Jung Wu.
“We had to deport them immediately because they are subject of an outstanding arrest warrants issued by various prosecutor’s offices in Taiwan,” David said. He added that the passports of the deportees were all cancelled by the Taiwanese government, thus, they were expelled for being undocumented aliens. According to the BI chief, three of the four deportees were among 26 Taiwanese arrested by joint operatives of the BI and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in the cities of Mandaluyong and San Juan last September 27.
“They were picked up in their safehouses after informants tipped authorities about their alleged involvement in Internet and credit card fraud transactions,” David added. (Jun Ramirez)
