Manila, Philippines – The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Representative to the Philippines has bid goodbye to the country, but not before leaving over $85 million worth of aid to underprivileged children.
UNICEF Representative Vanessa Tobin made a farewell call on Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Albert del Rosario on November 23, wherein the two discussed the strong partnership between the Philippines and UNICEF. UNICEF is the primary advocate of children’s rights within the UN system.
“Under Ms. Tobin’s almost three years of stewardship, UNICEF continued to work for the benefit of the Filipino children,” the DFA said in a statement Tuesday. (Ellson A. Quismorio)
