The southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” will bring monsoon rains over a large portion of Northern and Central Luzon today, but “good” weather over the entire country can be expected during the long holiday weekend.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains will be experienced over Batanes and Babuyan group of islands this Wednesday.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms is expected over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Zambales and Bataan.
PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The habagat will also bring moderate to strong winds over the northern and western section of Northern Luzon, causing the coastal waters along these areas to become moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
