CEBU CITY – Retired police general Vicente Loot, the controversial mayor of Daanbantayan, Cebu, was wounded after a gun accidentally went off inside a vehicle last Wednesday night.
“The incident that happened to Mayor Vicente Loot of Daanbantayan, Cebu yesterday is unfortunate but he is in good condition now,” Loot spokesperson Atty. Russel Pernites said in a press statement.
Pernites said Loot and his security aides were on their way home in a convoy after attending the wake of his supporter in Barangay Lanao, Daanbantayan at past 8 p.m. when the incident happened.
Loot transferred to another vehicle and sat on a hard object. He reached for it and a gunshot rang out.
Loot sustained a bullet wound in the left leg. He was taken to the town hospital and was declared out of danger.
Senior Insp. Adrian Nalua, Daanbantayan police chief, said they learned about the incident when a concerned citizen informed them that Loot was taken to the Daanbantayan District Hospital for a bullet wound.
Nalua said they are now investigating the incident.
The freak accident happened almost three weeks after Loot and his family survived an ambush at Maya Port in Daanbantayan.
Loot was linked by President Duterte to the illegal drugs trade.
Another thing I’ve noticed is the fact for many people, bad credit is the reaction to circumstances further than their control. For example they may have been saddled with illness so that they have high bills going to collections. It might be due to a job loss or even the inability to do the job. Sometimes breakup can really send the financial circumstances in an opposite direction. Thank you for sharing your thinking on this weblog.
