ENTER MINI-SERIES: In place of long and winding teleseryes, networks are now turning to mini-series as their next best bet in local programming.
GMA takes the lead in producing them, starting with its Sunday tele-cine, and now followed by mini-series showcases that will run for one week only.
Taping has started for a new anthology, “I Can See You,” whose opener is “Love On The Balcony,” starring Alden Richards and Jasmine Curtis Smith.
It follows the story of two neighbors, photographer Iñigo (Alden) and frontliner nurse Lea (Jasmine) in the time of COVID-19.
“Love on the Balcony” also stars Pancho Magno, Denise Barbacena, and Shyr Valdez.

ALDEN NEEDS: After scoring one big hit in a Star Cinema movie, “Hello Love Goodbye” in 2019, Alden is back to TV work, with at least three new shows on GMA.
The pandemic may have halted his further climb to stardom, but it seems he’s making up for lost time.
A reunion project with his “Hello Love” partner, Kathryn Bernardo, may not materialize in the nearest future, given the situation at ABS-CBN and the pandemic still closing down movie houses. Nevertheless, it remains an ace up his sleeves.
Meanwhile, Alden needs a strong female partner as his love interest – on screen lang naman – in his home studio.
Could that be Jasmine? Yes, why not? Jasmine is more than just an attractive young lady, she is smart and is a good actress, too. Here’s hoping her tandem with Alden catches on and establishes them as a team to watch.
