ALLACAPAN, Cagayan ‒ She can teach but definitely she can’t act. That’s the reason why a female member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was captured by the police at a checkpoint in this town Wednesday.
She tried to pretend to be an insane, but unluckily she failed to convince the authorities.
Lt. Col. Andree Abella, spokesperson of Police Regional Office 2, identified the arrested NPA as a certain “Gian” who was identified by a former rebel.
The former rebel told authorities that their colleague was with the movement operating in the mountains of Flora, Apayao, 16 years ago.
A native of Barsat West, Baggao, Cagayan, the arrested NPA served as a teacher to the rebels who could not read and write as part of their training within the movement in Flora, Apayao.
She’s now being interrogated by authorities at the station.
Regional director Gen. Crizaldo Nieves called on authorities to be vigilant as “acting” is now part of NPA’s modus operandi to gather information against the government. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
