Manila, Philippines – Manila, Philippines – Sorry, they’re not for sale. Director General Nicanor Bartolome, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), rejected outright the proposal of a lawyer-activist to buy original copies of the mugshots of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from them. “I have not seen the letter, but those are not for sale,” said Bartolome.
On Wednesday, lawyer Argee Guevarra wrote Bartolome, informing the latter that he is willing to pay P50,000 for the original copies of the mugshots of Arroyo taken on Saturday after her arrest at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Taguig City for a case of electoral sabotage.
Right now, Bartolome said what they are interested in is not the P50,000 from Guevarra but to identify the person or persons who uploaded the alleged Arroyo mugshots in the internet and gave it to the media. (Aaron Recuenco)
