Anne Curtis is the face of the localized version of Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform.
This was announced in a grand shindig held at the Fifth At Rockwell, Aug. 9.
Several celebrities were present including actors Christian Bables and Cristine Reyes.
Film and TV producers, including Regal’s Roselle Monteverde and APT’s Mike Tuviera, were also there.
The launch coincides with similar endeavors in Indonesia and Thailand.
It came with bonus: Viewers will be offered a seven-day free trial followed by a discounted introductory offer 149 pesos per month valid till the end of the year.
Anne shared her happiness about it at the sidelines of the event.
She gushed, “I’m a huge fan of Prime Video!”
“I’m really glad that it will be finally made available here. I’ve been streaming films on the platform particularly during the pandemic and honestly, it has inspired me to accept more acting jobs.”
She loves it that the company is eager to create local content.
“It allows so many possibilities that, I think, would benefit a lot of local creatives,” she said. “I for one would want to work with them if ever.”
Note that already in the works is a situational improvisation comedy challenge series slated for release next year titled “Comedy Island: Philippines.”
Highlighted during the launch are several original Filipino films that will be made available on the platform: Jun Lana’s “Big Night,” Jason Paul Laxamana’s “How To Love Mr. Heartless,” and “Whether The Weather Is Fine.”
Korean content will also be made available as with global Amazon Originals “The Boys” and “The Terminal List.”
