JP Voltes bounced back from a disappointing loss during midweek while Stallion barged into the win column after two straight defeats on Sunday in the United Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Voltes climbed to solo second with nine points, three off unbeaten leader Global, while Stallion got the maximum three points after starting the league season with losses to Global (4-2) and the Loyola Meralco Sparks (3-1).

Baguioro, loaned from powerhouse Ceres-La Salle, continued to make good use of the playing a key role for the Japanese-flavored Voltes by finding the back of the net in the 13th, 38th, and 43rd minutes.

Voltes won after losing 4-0 to Global in a Thursday game that saw them lose steam in the second half after a scoreless tie at the half.

Meanwhile, Doctora’s eventual winner for Stallion came in the 25th minute after beating Kaya keeper Matthew Acton.

Stallion goalie Roland Sadia had a strong showing behind the sticks, saving attempts by Kaya’s Kenshiro Daniels and Robert Lopez Mendy to seal the victory.
