PAGASA sees rains today

A new low pressure area near the northern tip of Luzon will bring rains over Batanes and Cagayan today while the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will affect the western section of Northern and Central Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration located the LPA at 120 kilometers east-southeast of Basco, Batanes at 4 a.m. yesterday.

It said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms are expected over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Cagayan, Zambales, Bataan, Batanes, Calayan, and Babuyan Islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. (Ellalyn B. de Vera)
