Not showing! De Lima sex videos

The Department of Justice will not present the alleged sex videos of Sen. Leila M. de Lima when the House Committee on Justice resumes its investigation on the illegal drugs trade at the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City tomorrow.

Justice Secretary Vitaliano N. Aguirre II said it is up to the House panel chaired by Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo Umali if it would show De Lima’s intimate videos during the probe. Aguirre said that he did not push for the sex video presentation.

“We are not going to present anything about (sex video). Actually mayroon ngang nag-affidavit, bagong affiance ito na nagsasabi well nag-confirm ng existence ng video, but whether we will play it or not, depende na sa committee, wala akong say. We are just going to present witnesses, we are not in possession of any video,” Aguirre told reporters in an interview at the sidelines of the plenary deliberations on the proposed 2017 P3.35-trillion General Appropriations Act.

He said they will present 10 new witnesses tomorrow who would testify that De Lima personally received narcotics money, including Joenel Sanchez, a former aide of De Lima who is a member of the Presidential Security Group.

“Maraming bagong witnesses, witnesses na magsasabing inabot talaga nila ang drug money kay De Lima,” Aguirre said.

The Justice Secretary said he had watched one of the alleged sex videos that supposedly originated from the cellular phone of De Lima’s former bodyguard, Ronnie Dayan.

Aguirre said it looks like De Lima and Dayan, her alleged boyfriend, are in the sex video. “Sa tingin ko eh. Ayaw ko (magbigay) ng details basta ang masasabi ko lang napanood ko at silang dalawa,” referring to De Lima and Dayan. (Charissa M. Luci)
