They just won’t quit

COTABATO CITY – Being a former member of the military or an active local official did not help two people to avoid getting arrested for their involvement in illegal drugs.

Tuesday night, anti-narcotics operatives arrested a couple for allegedly operating a drug den here after two weeks of surveillance operation.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) regional director Bryan Babang identified the one of the suspects as Rogelio Bolo, a former corporal of the 6th Infantry Division who was nabbed together with his wife after they were caught in the act of selling alleged methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a PDEA agent.

Babang, who was discharged from the service for going AWOL, was arrested along with wife and their 15-year-old son who was later on turned over to the city social welfare office.

Babang told reporters that surveillance operations were conducted at the couple’s house in Barangay Rosary Heights 6 for two weeks.

Anti-narcotics operatives seized several sachets of suspected shabu from the couple’s possession.

In Maguindanao, A village councilman who has been in the radar of anti-narcotics operatives for peddling and using prohibited drugs was arrested by authorities early Wednesday.
