Four people, including two female cops, were reportedly abducted by armed men in Patikul, Sulu on Sunday, a military official Monday disclosed.

Joint Task Force Sulu commander Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, identified the two policewomen as PO2 Benierose Alvarez and PO1 Dinah Gumahad, both assigned at the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) Crime Laboratory.

The two other victims were identified as Jakosalem Ahamad Blas and Faizal Hidji.

Sobejana said the abduction took place at the vicinity of Brgy. Liang, Patikul, Sulu at about 12:40 p.m.

It was learned the victims were onboard a tricycle when they were flagged down by more or less 11 armed men led by one Mujir Yada.

Following the incident, combined forces of JTF Sulu and the PNP were quickly dispatched to conduct search and rescue operation.

“We are requesting the public to be extra cautious especially in isolated places to preclude untoward incident to happen and to report to us through fastest means any sightings of lawless elements for our immediate appropriate action,” he added.
