Son leads cops to drug-crazed dad

By Kate Javier

Hoping his father would change, a son led police to the arrest of his own father who had been a drug suspect in Caloocan City.

Elements from PCP 3 arrested early Monday morning 58-year-old Alejandre dela Cruz Sr., jobless, and his cohort, Danilo Dionisio, 60, electrician, both residents of Barangay 176.

Dela Cruz’s son identified as Alejandre dela Cruz Jr. reported to the patrolling policemen regarding an ongoing pot session inside their house along Phase 8B around 1 a.m.

Upon arrival, the older Dela Cruz and Dionisio were caught sniffing sachets of shabu. Police recovered two more plastic sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.

The younger Dela Cruz told police that his father had a previous case for allegedly slapping his sibling. Dionisio, on the other hand, was included in the drug watch list and had a previous drug case, according to case investigator PO1 Juan Miguel Madlangbayan.

Appropriate charges will be filed against the two men for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
