LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Independent presidential aspirant Sen. Grace Poe yesterday expressed confidence that there will be no military coup under her administration.
Poe said she is not expecting the military to turn its back on her because of the reforms and programs would make people happy.
“Pag naging presidente ako, walang magiging coup d’etat. Magiging masaya ang lahat sa ating reporma, aalagaan natin ang military, imo-modernize natin sila,” Poe said after a campaign here after Sen. Antonio F. Trillanes IV warned that Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, if elected, would be prone to military coups because of his ties with the communist rebels.
Poe said if Duterte wins, his administration is vulnerable to a lot of things. “Hindi pa nakakaupo, may malaking kwestiyon na sa kredibilidad, sa mga ari-arian. I-disprove niya kung hindi totoo, kelangang gawin yun. Yung pronouncements din nya ay nakakabahala, kung kumontra ka ipapakulong ka, kung ang isang institusyon kumontra, ipapasara niya,” she said.
Meanwhile, Poe is worth P89 million, according to her latest Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth.
Poe’s SALN stated that she has two residential properties in California, one purchased in 1992 and another in 2008.
Both described as a house and lot, the property bought in 1992 was purchased for P27,995,500 while the other in 2008 was acquired at P15,074,500. (Charissa M. Luci and Hannah L. Torregoza)
